Interim Pastor Ed Katzenberg (April 2017 to present)

Transitional Pastor Tom Kauffman (September 2015-March 2017)

I come to Albuquerque after spending virtually my whole life in the Midwest. I grew up in Indiana, attending several colleges in the state before attending Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries (now Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary).

My first pastorate was an emerging congregation in rural southern Indiana (Paoli) that developed into a full-time position during the 10 years I was there. Next I found myself the lead pastor of an urban established congregation in central Illinois (Mennonite Church of Normal). After 8 years in Illinois, I joined the conference staff of the Ohio Conference of Mennonite Church USA, living in Toledo, Ohio. I first served as a regional pastor, resourcing 25+ congregations and pastors. Soon I became the conference minister, assuming more administrative responsibilities.

After 20 years in an administrative role, it is good to return to pastoral ministry! I am serving AMC as its transitional pastor, helping prepare the congregation for its next long-term pastor(s).

I am the husband of Amy, a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health, and the father of four children who are all married. To date we have eight grandchildren with another one to arrive in February 2016.

I welcome conversation with any and all about what it means to be a Mennonite, a person of faith, or a dweller in the Southwest!
